INDIGO + SHIBORI DYE WORKSHOP with KATHRYN DAVEY

Indigo is a natural dye, which comes from plants, that gives a vibrant and beautiful blue colour when used to dye fibers and textiles.

PRINTMAKING & ETCHING WORKSHOP with DANIEL LIPSTEIN

A three hour workshop covering monoprint, drypoint, multi-plate registration, carborundum, soft ground, hard ground etching and aquatint. The class deals with several skills simultaneously and is suitable for anyone from beginners to more experienced printmakers.

INTRODUCTION TO FERMENTATION with KING OF KEFIR & BLAS CAFE

Presenting a hands-on evening of fermentation exploration with King of Kefir and Blas Cafe in the heart of Dublin City. We will be learning how to make delicious fermented beverages and food using water and milk kefirs that can help improve your digestive health. 


HEWEN SPOONS with EAMON O’SULLIVAN

This is a great introduction to axe and knife work. No woodworking experience is necessary although participants should be reasonably comfortable with the idea of handling sharp tools. You will learn all the skills you need to create a spoon from scratch.

SIGN PAINTING with VANESSA POWER and JOHN MAHON

Hand painted menu boards, window and shop signs have seen a resurgence lately. In this workshop participants are taught traditional hand painted letter techniques and styles, allowing them to create their own signs.

Starting off by drawing and painting the basic letter forms and then moving on to a variety of lettering effects, including: shadows, outlines, bevel and convex lettering. All the while learning to improve brush control and techniques, enabling people to complete their own distinctive Love Letter sign.

BLEND YOUR OWN BITTERS WORKSHOP with OFF THE CUFFE BITTERS

Learn how to make and use your own bitters in this hands-on workshop.

The session begins with a brief background of bitters, some interactive experiments, and a tincture tasting, so you can learn how to make and use bitters in cocktails, non-alcoholic drinks and in cooking.

You will learn basic formulas, tools, and processes for making bitters from botanicals including orange peel, cardamom, gentian, cascara, wormwood, hibiscus and cocoa. We will craft a batch of versatile aromatic bitters as well as help you to craft your own unique blend of bitters to take home.
